FRIENDSHIP

i just have to say...go in closer for a texture view...
..this was an interesting process for me...
the foundation was from not wasting paint on another background
paper...paint, light molding paste, one impression made, i started to put it back on the gloppy paint i had going on...wait...i lovvvve these colors, i lovvve this look...LEAVE IT ALONE AND LET IT DRY!
then the painting itself came fairly easy. and i liked the look of lefty there with the foundation peeking through, but thought...hmm ...it's such an unusual color and started to paint her face some more...wait...LEAVE HER ALONE, JUST go FOR IT! do you like it...hmmm...no....i LOVE IT!...
then put the paintbrush down!!!!
lots more went into the process of this than said here...i wanted to share SOME of it.
then a decision on words, no words, collage dresses, dried flowers???? decisions, decisions....
then after having such deep and wonderful conversations with joanne rose (http://joannerose.net)
the words finally came!!!!!!!!
listen, hear, stillness and whispers...
then last night (whew) it's getting lonnnng here...
i was thinking about friends that are tangible and friends that are met in cyberspace...
how fortunate we women are in sooooo many ways...like our friendships, and how we can confide and love one another, appreciate and learn from one another...UNCONDITIONALLY!
XXOO...this painting represents some of those grateful feelings about the truest and lovliest of friends...be they tangible or cyberspace...they make such a wonderful, tremendous gift in our lives!
maybe i should put a title to it..."our blessings"??!!
..."soul sisters", with a little color change (computer)...

they are groovin' now!

  1. amazing, Wanda... just incredibly amazing... richly textured and colorful... representative of friendships that know no boundaries... with every piece you create you not only refine and develop your own beautiful style you keep going even more deeply into the well of your incredibly beautiful loving heart... the conversations we've shared this past week could be no more real or genuine as friends than if we had met in person (yet), proving that love's power is so great it needs no physical presence to create bonds of the heart... your painting and words are exquisite, as are the hands and heart that created it...

  2. I great piece aof art with great sentiment. I think about the word friends fairly often, and we have friends in sort of diffrent catagories, talk to friends, fun things friends, and sometimes they are both. Work friends, committee friends, art friends, relative friends that are also two roles in friendship. The friends we have are all valuable, and the friend we are is also important.

A friend and I were talking the other day about "noraml" how when we find someone that thinks like we do, understands us, likes us, we think that is normal but it is only our "very own normal" and we all have one.

Enjoy coming to your site for visits about art and life.

  3. Wanda, Your painting says it all...so very well, and I can't agree with you more about Joanne. I know, speaking for myself, how each of you have said and done the most perfect things for me in this short time; when even those closest to me were unaware, YOU made all the difference. It is my tremendous good fortune to know and love you.

  4. aw! guess what i'm doing today? i started to dissemble the book you sent me. i'm going to save what i can, and add it to pages of another book..just a store bought book i have on hand. i hate to scrap the idea of having a book, but i can't figure out how to make it right other than using another book as the core.

anyway..that's what i was doing, and while waiting for some gel medium to dry, i came here to see your newest. you just keep amazing me, my dear. this piece is so sweet. it represents friendship so well.
