Working in my art journals...letting go more and more...

 I found two old
photo albums in the thrift store.

They have the best paper ever in them to paint on!

The small flowers hold my own torn "painted papers"

I used acrylic, torn catalog papers and inks on this one.

I let my self follow the paint around on this one.
I wrote some words in brown and white with a fountain pen.
and then,
the
BIRDIE!

 More play for the background.
I am in love with turquoise and manganese blue
TOGETHER
right now.
This reads;
"seeing perfection in the imperfect nature of the world"

More play!

It is so relaxing and peaceful while painting...
having the world go away,
and just play.

I wish this for all of you...
PEACE.

LEARNING CURVES...

I have been playing, studying, experimenting
of late.
I have been so frustrated, not being able to work on my large canvases because of so many distractions.
So I started painting on every possible substrate in sight, within my studio and YES,
out of my studio.
Filling up my little art journals like crazy, still frustration.
I told a friend I know that I am evolving and changing with my art, little steps at a time...
and then
HOW 'BOUT THAT...
in my little ol' life as well.
It all goes hand in hand.

So now, this piece, I was exploring and mixing colors that I love.
I really wish I would have left it longer to "percolate", but I
did not!

I even thought I might just throw in the towel to some degree.
And then...
THAT MAGIC
always comes.
My days have been filled with family and friends love, how can I be frustrated I ask.
My creative discoveries are always worth the wait, how could I doubt this.
 I started painting
"her".
Oh, my love of faces.
I tried changing how I proceed normally and tried to improve on anything concerning the face.

 And so
here
she
is.
I learned more, and shall continue on this journey.
I outlined her with a white dip fountain pen...
I am so in love with this fountain pen lately,
I've been writing all over every chunk of paper I have.
 Her words...
my words...
my thoughts...
my feelings...
There is a LOT
that went into this little painting.
I share all of this as I know other artists run up
against these happenings.
I hope this helps or affirms your feelings, it has mine as well.

I've done a few more of these little "Inks",
one didn't turn out.

 This is absolute play time...
and I
ALWAYS
learn so much when letting go!

Here are words for

ALL OF US!

XOXO

WINTER...

 So...
here I am in my studio.
After
cooking and baking
most of the day...
I popped into my art journal
and painted the colors I am craving!

These 2 pieces
are NOT THE COLOR of
CHRISTMAS.

It is raining and foggy and we are going to have dayssss
of this, and even though we need it and it's wonderful...I start to get blue.
So why not paint the blues away!
Seems as though I've been here before
during winter time, ha!

Stay STRESS FREE friends as much as possible

DINKY INKY's and a CHRISTMAS angel...

 I took a class
from
Christina Romeo
the other day.
I have admired her work tremendously
for years.
She offered 1 free class if we took this one, certain one.
HOW
could I resist?
 She is great teacher...
CLEAR
CONCISE
FUN
yet...
she teaches loose and I LOVE
THIS PART!
She was teaching with india ink...and I started out that way...
but then I thought...
FW INKS!!!

whoa..i love them and their vibrant colors!

I learned a LOT more than just what Christina
taught!

Now that's an

INSPIRATIONAL
TEACHER!
 I
am
using my words
and quotes,
even on these.
I just
can't
help
myself.
Nor can anyone else, ha!

I've been so lucky to have
NATURAL
SUNLIGHT
the last few days.
This helps my mood
and my paintings.
As one little Christmas Angel!

I hope this finds you
UN-stressed, happy, and just
hangin' out before Christmas.

Love,
Wanda

ps. I don't know how to take off photos, only know how to correct the grammar..i already showed you this last one...
she's back, hahhahah

WE ARE SO GRATEFUL TO have a wonderful life here...never perfect of course...and the choices we have...like not turning on any of the media. Conversing with one another with our family and friends. Having get "togethers" NOT talking about politics. LAUGHING, LOVING and treasuring our days. Raising our children to meet this ever changing world, teaching the GOOD. It all ripples down the road making true changes in this entire world...

 More angel hangers.
Her garb appears almost tie died in person ;)

Dyed cheese cloth on her bodice ;)

 Embroidered fabric for her bodice...

 I'll stop here...
ALTHOUGH...
I cannot stop making them!

It rained for 2 days straight last week...

 Which is so very WONDERFUL,
after an 8 year drought!!!

 In fact...
It came down like buckets at times...

 Giving these guys,
lots of food!

We decided to go around all over our grounds at our home and capture some of them on film.
I LOVE them and sure am glad...
THEY AREN'T AFRAID OF THEIR OWN SHADOWS!

BEAUTIFUL AUTUMN DAYS...

 I have started
making Christmas gifts/sales.
it may seem early to some...

But one has to get a jump on these
CREATIVE
endeavors...

 Or...

 suddenly...

 the season...

 is
upon us!

And
THIS
helps
get me in the mood.

 Playing
Christmas carols
before we've
cooked
a
turkey ;)

Little hangers
3 1/2" x 5"
with wire and beads on top and bottom
they hang approximately 10"

Very nifty and can hang through all the seasons!

 7" x 10 "
Mixed Media Painting...

She is going to go in
our

IT'S A RAINY, FOGGY, DRIPPING WET FRIDAY...

 This is how it's going
with my
artwork
and life.
We are remodeling and painting walls,
with many interruptions, and
NOISE...
even with the door closed.
My husband tries to give me fair warning
with the
NAIL
GUN
and the
SAW...
yes.. the saw is in the rooms we are fixing.
 I am sending this tomorrow
to one of my favorite nieces.
She has had a rough life
and it's gotten worse.
Hoping to cheer her on ;)

 Close-up
obviously!

 I have been plugging away,

 on this
one...

 for seemingly months...

SEEKING
some brand new
CREATIVE JUICES...
this happens, we know,
i'm waiting...

HAPPY WEEKEND XO

EBB and FLOW is everything...

 While taking Laly's class...
Light, plaster & wax...
These were my first attempts at instructions.

We captured a fox on camera one evening.
I love this photo so much.
And now I have a way of preserving and passing on photographs in our family,
and
for
FRIENDS.
In what I feel is such a special way!

 I used:
fiber w/text, some hairy fibers, with fabric sewn on, some painted papers and lace.
Of course the photograph, plaster...

 and
layers and layers of wax.

What a yummy project these were!

 A
dipped in wax (using as glue) seed pod,
and underneath...
textured wallpaper that the wax received...
BEAUTIFULLY!

I wish you could hear Laly Mille say "beautiful" in her French accent...SHE is a BEAUTIFUL SOUL!

 Santa Catalina, Panama.
I sat with my youngest sister
for a partial day and then into
the dark of night!

Right near this remnant of a wall,
standing alone in an abandoned surf camp.
Listening and watching the sea waves roll
in and out.

Speaking of times past and present.
One GIFT of a lifetime with this sister. xo

 I died some cheese cloth,
used painted papers,
and various weights of fibers.
AGAIN...
they all adhered so scrumptiously to the materials!

 This
photo
was taken by me
last Autumn
at approximately the same time as
now ;)
It is of our home and trees and skyline.
These are the most
GORGEOUS
days and nights
around here.
It is difficult not to take pictures of the skies a million times over!

I stitched a teabag on the top,
with sewing machine,
before placing it on the substrate.

Then there are fibers and ribbons in various spots.
My work is so busy that I made just a few marks at the bottom.
The lines (such fun)

This was the smallest one that I made.
The photo is from someone else.
I dyed some more cheese cloth and didn't add much else to this piece.

 Up~close
of the fiber
and
words ;)

 One last ditty
to share.

In between working on more difficult projects,
I leave off some tension
by performing smaller works of art
and very spontaneous.

ERGO...

This one appeared!
