It's a Friday in April and the sun is shining...

 This
came
together
today.
This took
MANY
twists and turns.
With my own painted papers,
old papers,
and lots of smooshing of paint
and
charcoal,
it turned out so different
and
so
surprisingly,
WONDERFUL,
not as planned...
PER USUAL!

We have been watching this pair of house finches for over a month now.

This is their 4th or 5th final nest.

They are so haphazard and their funky nests would just blow away, or scatter...

There is one egg so far...to be continued...and I should add that we have been getting laughs from inside, watching their antics!

WHILE ONE LARGE PAINTING WAS drying between stages...

 This little threesome
started out like this.

 Then...
on to this

Here is where I stopped on one

 And then...
made a stop again

And a third!

I did these while a larger
(completely different) painting
was drying on it's easel.
Not done with that yet,
but will show you when I am.

EASTER THOUGHTS...

When
one writes on herbal stained
papers...
the entire room becomes
AROMATIC.
Walking away,
it remains
on your
fingers and hands...
and can
stir up
beautiful
MEMORIES
and
TIMES.

A RAINY DAY ON EASTER SUNDAY...

HAPPY EASTER!!!

A RAINY DAY ON A SATURDAY in APRIL...

 Layers, upon layers,
until the right "things" show up!

More layers of paint and papers,
old and new..
Then
POW
there she stops!

 These were all so fun!
Never really
EASY.
But they appear that way to me
when finished.
Oh how I LOVE
ABSTRACT and COLLAGE
all mixed up together...
brewing and bubbling to create a fine
STEW of BEAUTY!

THE FIRST WEDNESDAY AFTER APRIL FOOLS DAY...

What to do with all that happiness?
Even if you only have a little bit of happiness?
Even if you hardly have any happiness?
SHARE

I thought this would make a cute little card for someone!?

While at the drawing board...
I had to stick in a face, it's been a long while for me
and I always miss them.
And I think...
can I still paint a face?
It's just not always easy,
even when you've done this so many times.

HAPPY APRIL ONE OF 2017...

 Santa Fe-ish!

It started out like this and was a larger piece that I just couldn't make work...
ergo...
I cut it up and made the piece at the top,
THE ONE!

MONDAY IN MARCH...

 Okay folks...
it started raining again.
Annnd
I am down to one handed
painting
gluing
cutting (ughh)
due to some health issues.
I AM MAKIN' it I tell ya'!
Nothing is going to stop me (I pray)

With practice, one can start doing things
beyond what we ever thought we could do!
Uh Huh.

And it's such a great thing that I have been going out on a limb with abstract.
I shall
KEEP GOING further...

A SUNNY WEDNESDAY IN MARCH...

I needed to post these today...

I am close to  being finished, but needed to see
how these show up in this setting.

There are 50 million layers on this painting.
And I have been working on it for months!

I just know that I am going to have to take it outside and
get better photos.

The brown/gold little squares are hand dyed fabric.

i'm smiling big...

THE SUN
HAS BEEN
OUT
THIS ENTIRE DAY.
aND WE HAVE EVERY WINDOW
OPEN OPEN OPEN!

AND NOW IT IS MARCH AGAIN...

 Just
when
I
think I am finished with a piece...
I wake up in the morning, noticing that little green/brwn
semblance of a building on the horizon.
So back to the drawing board.
I am going to add a few other little tidbits down on the bottom portion...

Close up of the abstract tree

 Cardboard, sewn painted papers..
The papers are from the 1980's.
They are so fragile until I add soft gel, I can barely pick them up. So fascinating what was published back then.

Book binding materials and excerpt from old newspapers!

 Mark making yesterday...

to use in my collage pieces.
EXTREME (not skiing)
joy in painting.

Remember the old photo albums I found in the good will?
Well that paper is DIVINE...
BACKGROUND COLOR
TEXTURE
TOOTH...
It lends itself to such a different avenue and feeling for me!

This one came as hail and rain poured more today.
My way of dealing with NO SUNSHINE here in the Northwest.
It's a good way...
pouring paint and sewing little new skirts for my stick girlies.

Flowering Plum
out through the screen in my studio.
It is magnificent this year!
Signs of spring that shall come one day soon I hope.

HAPPY MARCH FRIENDS!

SHARING WITH YOU...

 Here I was fighting
no sun for weeks
and beautiful rain...
WINTER BLUES!

 SEWING
fabric on the petals,
and
bringing the sunshine
INSIDE MY VERY SOUL.
And gave this to a niece that admired it full of excitement...
I
ADMIRE
her and love the way she "parents"
her little darling boy!
WIN WIN

 The very best of
HAPPY ACCIDENTS..

While blobbing and saving extra paint...

 These 3
BEAUTIES
APPEARED...
I plan on using them some how, in a collage!

 Today,
while it poured rain...
I went crazy and made
giant stacks of collage papers.
(as if I don't have enough of them)
I went to town with
FW INKS!

 And you can tell,
I have been stuck inside...ugh...
Black out poetry...
read it slowly, one little white section at a time...
INTERESTING, huh?
I sure thought so and kinda humorous as well!

 YESTERDAY...
the only time we knew
THERE WAS A SUN SOMEWHERE!

I don't know about you, but when I was a little kid, I would make sun's at the top corner of the paper I was using and then made those big ol' rays pouring down?

I never knew they really existed until we moved here to Northern California...
GLORIOUS!!!

This one photograph portrays
the entire day yesterday!
It was wild...
THUNDER
LIGHTENING
DELUGE
and more.

EXCITING AND INVORGORATING...probably why I got so much done inside.

HAPPY WEEKENDER
