SUNRISE...

HERE is how the sun came up this morning...

 my husband said:

 our whole world has changed...

 it's all pink inside here...

 and then outside...no words

in my journal late last night...I kept pondering...where in the world did you come from...

i am re-reading ALICE IN WONDERLAND...and i
LIKE where my imagination is running!

Happy BEAUTIFUL week, and wishing you
BEAUTIFUL sights!

the photos were not altered, it's the real deal!

In and Out of the Journal...

In my new handmade journal, I decided to do some little experimenting with tea bags.

DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE?

I have used tea bags in my artwork previously, but wanted to do some more of testing and catching the beauty of them, along with more...I will post where this turns later...

I WAS going to do this in my journal, but wanted to do some sewing...

the left hand top is a sewn tea bag and some paint on top

at the bottom are pieces of painted cardboard; torn and sewn to the watercolor page...
i am going to glue it to this book cover that i painted, when it's completed.
for us working girls ;)
the weekend is right around the corner,
so i am ready to dive in some more!

"THE EARTH HAS MUSIC FOR THOSE THAT LISTEN"

 ***

 This is how it started...
I couldn't sleep one night...I am working on painting a guitar...
so I had painted this cupboard door black on a previous occasion,
then decided to collage some papers that night.

then I used some of the same colors as the guitar...

and then, I really went to town on painting...

a few days later I painted a face...

 and loved her...but even more...

was a new excitement (still is)...

that a lot of my work and dreams are continuing to meld...
into something I've chased since the beginning!
there are no RIGHTS or WRONGS...
just WONDERS divulging themselves as I paint
and glue, and dip and dive...
beautifully, and manage to continue...
INTUITIVELY!!!

6" x 15 1/2"
I think more the size of a drawer rather than a cupboard...
I used the back side

HAPPY NEW YEAR FRIENDS!

I started a painting/poetry/writing journal for the new year.
I finally had such a better understanding as to why these art journals...

can be invaluable to one! or more ;)

playing is my all time favorite way to loosen up and then...

it is ASTOUNDING as to how much we learn from poking around in techniques we already know, or new ones and PLAY with all of it!

this one was a layer of paints, then did a fake print from a square plastic cd cover using some CHEAP acrylic then writing over it when dry.

this one is with a few paint layers, using brush and fingers, washi tape, and charcoal circles, and computer generated ledger piece ...

just played like crazy between layers, then writing over it when dry

 same as above

 PLAY, the operative word

serious play with fingers...looks kind of planetary...

simply washi tape that I will paint over...

 and collage over

 one of my favorite uses in many paintings of mine;
when I blot paint off of other main pieces I am creating I save many of these for future collage, they are magazine slices ;) so they have a sheen/matte/surreal depth to them!

and to repurpose more of my personal art I have copied pieces randomly sewn together, mainly paper and often fabric with a pink copy of a building side in Panama stuck on as well...

and then I painted something real serious...on one of the plain white pages.

all the pages are just sewn together on my sewing machine and the paper is cardstock...lots more LESSONS and LEARNING for me as well as sharing!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE
and I love visiting you and thank you for your visits, immensely! xo
