NATURE IN THE CITY

 whether you follow me or not...i've been away for awhile...

it isn't that i haven't been painting...

or experimenting...

or learning...

 it's just that it has been summer time here...

so much more to do outdoors, until this heatwave hit!

feeling grateful that we have a home, jobs, and air conditioning...

and to mention a sister with a swimming pool, with constant open invitations,

and a key to come and go whenever we wish to!

 i tell you...in between all the fun and family...

i have been wearing out my brushes,

glueing my fingers to the bone (happily)...

and just plain enjoying life...

it's not a perfect life of course, we have had

sorrows and losses...but...i am in a wonderful place in my heart and head and it's showing up in my intuitive paintings...

FREEDOM, LOVE, COMARADERIE, OPEN DOORS, NEW FRIENDS and on...

LIFE IS SO SHORT!

 i just want to share, and stare, and explore and learn and teach and reach (and write poetry;)...

and share share share...

do you suppose i feel like time might be running out?

not really...

but i do start back to work and school tomorrow...

do i look forward to it, yes...it feeds my soul as does my artwork.

i am mainly with children all day long...

they have so much to offer...LIVING IN THE NOW, EXUBERANT, ENTHUSIASTIC, CAREFREE and on...how can this NOT wear off on me even a little bit?!

 Lucky i am to have this life, to share this life, to live this life to the fullest (cliche, i know)

but that's exactly what's happening over here!

POSITIVE abides...

and each of my followers are a huge part of this, and i thank YOU!

this is my time of year, that i seem to frolic, more than any other season!

4 a.m. this morning...89 degrees and i suspect the fires around us sent the moon this color

SUMMER MEMORIES

Returning here next year...Seal Beach California...with my sisters "3"...SIGH...tears...

ON A WING AND A PRAYER

a DELICIOUS fading summer!!!

ONE OF THOSE SUMMER BREAKS...

 ...and yet, another piece of a painting that i layered over the top

 ...and then another...so they are no longer visable, except in my computer...i should make cards out of them, yes!

 barrel stays, that broke and richard saved for me to paint...i shall be fashioning them into something COOL!

 ...and i KNOW that one of these boards will HAVE to have this particular knob encorporated into the piece of work :))

 ...and this is just a little teeny PIECE of a very large painting of the ocean and YES...

even some "M" birds. that makes me smile. i never ever dreamed i'd be painting M-birds, but this painting just called out for them! the entire collage is painted over with a palette knife. wanda has been all over the place with her paints, heh heh!

...and lastly...i posted this mug shot of me on face book as bunches of people didn't know what i looked like...now they do, as you, if ya' haven't seen me wandering around your town yet! HA!

i am going on a break to finish up a lot of paintings and work for the artwalk, in august. i have only shown pieces and parts of my paintings, because, if you come to the artwalk, i want you to have a surprise or two :)) ...more on that later...see you in about a month.

i hope you are all having a wonderful summer vacation, or a wonderful season, depending on what part of the earth you inhabit!

ran out of paints as i was going large...

 first up..."make your own life"...this will be changed into who knows...not even me :)...lots of cool layers...17" X 33"

 and this one shall go through some more changes...12" X 12" on an ampersand board...

 this is PART of one that is finished...and reads; "poetry of...listening to your thoughts"...i'll divulge it's entirety later...i'm on a roll right now...i ran out of paint for some of these...that's NEVER HAppened before to me...but guess there is always a first time for everything...i don't think i am going to wait for my dickblick order to arrive!

 now...this is getting humorous for me...this has already gone through some changes...and looks nothing like this, nor the coloring :))

it's 4 x 12 x 2 gallery wrapped...

VOILA!...she is wearing a hand painted silk skirt and wearing a hand made paper flower in her NON HAIR DO...(REMinds me of the days when our little erin lea, had no hair, i would tape a bow to her head, and people would still say, oh, what a darling little boy you have...dressed in pink, wearing a bow, and little pierced earring hoops)  WHOOP WHOOP!

LIFE IS GOOD RIGHT NOW!

 she is painted on a cupboard door...

 the door measures: 14" X 37"...

and there are a LOT of layers and textures, cloth, fabric, ink and paper and of course paint!

BRAVE NEW DAYS comes to mind :))

 going to fix her lips and then she's done and the words will come...

 the back of a scrub brush, that we used to scrub cement off, around aggregate stones we trimmed our long driveway with...that took us 4 summers, ugh, but worth it!

every time i weed eated, this would flib out of the edgings and i'd say to myself (this is aging beautifully, with natural crackles, deep gorgeous crackle) and voila! scrub brush annie!

WEDDING AND PAINTING AGAIN!

 i am itching to paint some faces...

17" X 32"-framed canvas

 but not sure YET, WHAT THESE WILL TURN OUT TO BE IN THE END...

AND THE END COULD BE NEAR OR FAR...I HOPE to find out sooner-est...but we'll see

 these next two are the same starts, with different lighting, ho hum...

 i am digging the colors, but they may be completely different in the end ;)

 i've been too busy to paint, with company and our girl's wedding...
