 Miz Katie and i made journals for each other...we finished them recently and oh what a gift it has been...i never knew i could treasure something so dear, so special...

this is that same woman from the previous post, in her entirety, the facing page in Katie's journal is a collage of the LADIES READING CLUB...

this is on the back cover...Katie had glued these hearts there and painted it white, then i added photos of fabric collages i did and painted on top of them.

i was going to paint and fade out the background, but just couldn't...

this just seemed right, like this is just how WE'D BOTH like it!!!

 

 

 

i will continue to post the rest of the book as time rolls on...

Painting for Friends!

 i just love when i can "repurpose" my own paintings and it actually turns out okay...

 

 

 

 this was a printed out painting of mine on silk and then painted over the top of that with some extra treatments first...

 

 

 

 

 also took a photo of, "she keeps her secrets in her pockets",

from the same painting, encorporating that into part of the piece, or piece of the part,

depending on how you look at it...

 

 

 

 

 some stitching together of fabrics and paper...

 

 

 

 

 some paint and words.

the piece in it's entirety is glued to a book back,

and i will make a hanger out of it soon!

i have a long way to go, especially since i start back to work tomorrow...

 

 

 

 

and here is this past post in it's entirety...

i claimed it was a commission and it was of sorts.

i didn't want miz katie to know it was for her, in our journal trade. (she figures out my secrets all the time)

this painting gave me such grief (it could have been the same as a commission, having such high expectations, when it was for someone else) and i loved her finally when finished.

She lived right next door to the LADIES READING CLUB and always brought flowers to their meetings ;) and now Miz Katie owns her!

FIBER OF CHRISTMAS...

little bird

ribbons and sequins

stamped tea bag

wire and beads and more...

 

from my hands, my heart and my love...

HOW MANY CHANGES...

 I thought i'd show some of the changes...

 

 

 

 I didn't care for their faces...

 

 

 

 this has been hanging around for 3 years or more...

 

 

 

 if I knew how to work a movie camera, then i'd show it that way...

 

 

 

 they sure have morphed I tell ya'...

 

 

 

 

 this used to be the absolute scariest thing ever, to change a painting, especially a fairly large one...

 

 

 

 

 this is an 16" X 20" gallery wrapped, no frame needed...

 

 

 

 

 this has been a real challenge...

 

 

 

 

 and yet a labor of love, always learning more and more in the DOING!

 

 

 

 

they are close to being finished.

and they are wearing the most wonderful

FABRIC PAPER I fashioned...

and will show them with their entire outfits when I finally

reach that last stroke! WHEW!

 

IT READS:

on the left--she really listens

on the right--she so gets me.

PEEK A BOO...she's brand new

i think she will begin a series...we shall see

there is something special about a way of life here...

ANGEL HANGERS...for all year round, and in time for Christmas...

 on one fine day i cut up some 140 lb. watercolor paper

 

 

 

 

 painted and collaged...

 

 

 

 i even took them outside and spray painted...

 

 

 

 added papers, ribbon, cheese clothe...

 

 

 

 and even put them under the sewing machine needle to attach various materials and such...

 

 

 

 and then today, i put on some finishing touches...

 

 

 

 added some wire and beads to turn them into little hangers

 

 

 

posted all of them on PINTEREST

THEY are for sale,

but,

i made each of them specifically for special persons in my circle

of friends, so, if,

they sell, i'll buy more paint,

and if they don't, they will go to that special person.

and...

i love making them and will make more ;)

WIND WHISPERS

 THE START

 

 

 

 Deer Eyes (seed pods found in Panama)

Shells, beads and feathers (found all over the world)...

 

 

 

 

 there has to be a bit of BLUE SEA color...

ergo, the soft chiffon blue and green fabric

 

 

 

 

 in it's fullness...

I just couldn't seem to get a really good shot of how pretty!

 

 

 

 

 it doesn't tangle in the wind,

it should last a long time with wire and fishing line,

there is even a tarnished piece of bent copper we found on the seashore...

 

 

 

 

 it just barely whispers with just 3 Capiz shells on the left end ;)

 

 

 

 

and this...a little portion of a painting I've been about...

 

 

our Indian Summer is over now and we had our first indoor fire yesterday...

I adore the change in seasons!

OCTOBER LOVE

it's that time again, CACKLE...to make a few of these little painted hangers! ;)

i thought this was more of an art ting blog wanda...

so here is a charcoal study i did awhile back, then added some dyed cheese cloth...fun stuff

 

 

 

i have been on pause from this blog...i don't want to be a downer and keep bringing up our life challenges of late...let's just suffice it to say that we put Dad, papa to rest and this photos are the night before as the family has healed together.

Dad/Papa and mom, left a lot of lovin' behind...it was the best of life with them...now onward and upward.
