VALENTINE'S DAY HAS COME AND GONE...then there's this...

 Back at it...
This is for our new granddaughter's room.
There's a little story written right on the canvas.
It goes something like;
Venna went on a Safari one day. She went running into the bush while the grownups yelled, Venna, come back. And she did come running back excitedly...yelling, 'I saw a pink elephant and she had a pink umbrella!!!' the end

 and this one..
on a cardboard box for
little Venna's room!

My trip was wonderful!

HISTORY ON A SATURDAY...

I thought i'd share a fun little Saturday today.
I found this on e-bay months ago.
I purchased this journal for a song you might say!

It is a man's payment record of
music sheets he sold...

 From the years of
1930-1951

It would be so interesting to know about this
music man and his life from this time in history.

His printing certainly is quite ledgible.

I had already started tearing it apart
I know, gasp!
months ago to put in some art pieces.

Hopefully, then, the work I finish will
be appreciated in some other century.

This is part of the front cover.

When I caught sight of it's raggedy edges and "oldness", I thought that I should take photos of how it looked at one time.

February that feels like spring time...

 FINISHED!
She is on an old map camping substrate.
Torn papers, photos, words and paint.

 And then...

 All the little,

night critters that traipse around
while we are sleeping...

LAST DAY OF JANUARY, 2018...

I am working on finishing "her"
today.
Then hopefully I will have time to post!

 This morning's capture.
So much better in person of course.
I just have a very plain
ordinary
camera.

And then...
what a surprise this take was!
Almost looks like a
lit from below
jack-o-lantern.

IT'S JANUARY IN 2018...

 In November of 2017,
I started this...

Maybe it was even earlier than that.
I try not to keep track. I just found a pic
on my photo op's of it in that month?

 There is paint of course,

cheese cloth, cardboard, own painted papers,
own repurposed art work, ink writings, and

 dried flowers, torn fabric.

 This is the title,
tucked in quietly
within the painting.

 The true colors
I cannot capture, even in daylight.

My new little love,
our granddaughter,
Venna Sloane.
How could we not possibly adore this
little pixie!
xoxo

The true colors are in between this one and the one above Jenna.

SISTERS and NIECES February mountain trip...

 Front cover
of my art journal.
That I will take on my trip.
Everyone will write or draw on the
following pages.
And then photographs will be added in later.

 This deli-paper,
painted page...

Collage and paint page...

 are some of the finished,

 and prepped pages,

 INSIDE
our journal of memories,
and silliness,
and love...

Never
to be
forgotten
and passed
down through the
FAMILY
and possibly
the
ages!

HAPPY SUNDAY
EVERYONE

IT'S STILL JANUARY...

On Fridays
Annie
comes over to paint
and collage.
I always give her some directions,
and maybe demonstrations.
Then I let her
"do her thing".
And she goes to town!

 Then she explores supplies and
asks many questions,
(I love that)
chooses what she might like to experiment with and
jumps in.
Today I put a small canvas next to her first project and,
she squealed with delight, learning more tricks with inks.
Pretty soon she piped up with,
"Wanda, I'm ending up doing everything on the canvas"
YAY ANNIE ...
GO ANNIE...
EXPERIMENT and LEARN and have FUN with it!
I treasure these days with Annie.
She's my next door neighbor about a 1/2 acre away.

 Gallery wrapped canvas
with
dyed and painted papers,
dyed and painted fabric and fibers,
old sheet music,
and acrylic paint.
It's one of those pieces that is hard to photograph so one can REALLY see
what it's like!

I am almost finished with her...
I have so many paintings waiting in the wings.
But happy they are there.
I am trying to have more balance in life activities.
This is NOT ALWAYS EASY
when all you want to do is paint.

This is the latest little varmit captured on our outdoor camera.
We crack up at this one.
The little red light probably blinked in the dark as he was passing by and was startled!

CHRISTMAS DAY 2017...

 These are some
up
close...

 portions
of whole
pieces that I am working on.

A very good friend gave me a pack of
cotton wrapped canvases,
about 7x10 for Christmas.
I love how the texture shows up unless I get heavy handed.
There are
TEN!!!

I started a series but who knows
where they will all end up.
will
show
them when
finished!

I altered this on a photo op to use in another piece.

I even tried my hand at a little Santa on an inky project,
he's in the trash!

I am so looking forward to a new year and sunny days!
Hope you all are staying well, and if not, taking GOOD CARE of yourselves. xo

IT'S SATURDAY AND THE SUN IS SHINING...

Last night as the sun went down...

 TRULY INCREDIBLE!

Almost unbelievable!

 These are

 photos of our studio,
after we tore up the carpet and put down layers of felt.

 This is the flooring that
is going down.
We are hoping to finish in about 2 more days.
Especially me,
because I have a portion of cruddy
art supplies downstairs on the kitchen
table.
Which I will need to cart back upstairs when we are through
with this project.
THIS
is why I haven't posted anything.

 Here is our fox...
well,
not ours.
He has been hanging around our house for a couple of weeks now.
He must have a den near by...
or
she?
And these guys have practically taken over
the neighborhood these last couple of years.

 I should mention here;
we live on 4 1/2 acres.
So officially most might say...
this really is "their" neighborhood.
Last night our nearest neighbors dog
got into a fight with one or more at midnight.
They had to take him in for emergency surgery.
They really have not been so cute I say.
They have become so brazen,
they scratch at our front door as if they'd like to come in and browse around.
Only took one time,
that I opened the door thinking it was our cat.
And there stood a raccoon standing straight up,
growling.
Ai yi yi

I had just started a class
of
Misty Mawn's
Immigrants.
So I was only able to do one painting, boo hoo.
(Before we started tearing the rest of our house apart.
We have been remodeling upstairs for a year now.)

It has been bitter sweet looking up so many photos on the subject.
Then I started looking up photos
during the depression years, here in the states.
It has made me feel more than fortunate to have
been born after this time in history.

Have you taken a class lately?
This one is quite wonderful and affordable!
