LEAVING THE PAST BEHIND...

 They had to leave their
place behind.
The house and out buildings,
they improved.
They all grew.
And most saddest of all,
they had to leave
the barn they built
from the ground up.
And of course the
BEAUTIFUL LAND.

They took a little trip
back to see what it
looked like later.
It looked so different.
And their flowers still grew,
even though the land wasn't
beautiful anymore.

ARE YOU MY CREATION...?

Here's what I was thinking. I am in a Co-op gallery right now. I can't show any of my faces, it might conflict with another artist. Soooo...I can NEVER stop doing my faces and this I did today. I am going to make a series along these lines (pun intended) of FACES...BIG FAT FACES. They are in my system and will probably never leave! Ergo...NUMERO UNO

TITLE: "Some days we are put together with glue, ready to rip apart at any moment" (but we somehow manage to carry on)

HAPPY SNOW SUNDAY MY FRIENDS!

SHEESH! IT'S ALREADY FEBRUARY...

 These spilled over
while working on the painting
at the very bottom
of this post.

 The colors are
far and away
from that large one.

 I have to
divert my ideas
relaxing over getting that
larger painting moving
along.

 I'm going to call
these 3...
Sidewalk Graffiti
or
Soft Graffiti
or
who knows...

 Aside from the acrylic paint;
fabric, papers, writing with paint.
And very fun working in 3 colors only!

This is a portion
of a
24" x 36" canvas.
Going to return to it soon,
nice and fresh,
with new ideas!

HAPPY PAINTING EVERYONE!

A HAPPY AND CONTENTED SUNDAY IN JANUARY...

 She called from
the gallery and said,
you sold another piece, Wanda.
smiling

 Then she said,
'where are some cards, where is a bio,
people want to see you and more of your
work! Get on it sister!'

Today I started making my cards
rather than order on line.
A lot more fun!

Thank you Chris Magisano

 I have been so busy
I really thought that
I would not get around to
finishing
ANY
new paintings...
Well, I'll be!!
I did!
This one who's title shall be;
"A POOR MAN'S SUNLIGHT AND LANDSCAPE"
(it's a secret as to this title)

 Close up
of the above painting.

 The second mixed media,
finished!
Sitting in the sunshine to dry.
Reads;
"DANCING WITH LIGHT AND RHYTHM"

Sometimes...
we could take our
paint pallets and mount
them on a substrate
and they would stand
alone!
(but this one was on glass)

Smiling large today!

PRACTICE IN JANUARY...

 FW INKS
rule!
But then,
so do deli paper prints,
 that
someone saves every ounce
to paint on!
smile

"she planted her own crops one year"
When framed
you might notice her little house up there,
in the right hand corner?

absolutely
LOVE
how acrylic paint
goes down on really old papers.
I do!
I see 2 barns or out buildings
emerging on the left.
It's going to be a
'bear'
when I get ready to frame it.

 Yup...
left over paints from this mornings
practice.

Painting
over
a
ripped up hand knitted something
I did long ago...
Where will this take me...
who knows,
I love guessing and
EXPERIMENTING!

SMILE BIG

IT'S ALREADY A JANUARY...

 I finished 3 paintings today!

 And the words...
Easily in this quiet I come to stay...
smiling

 Not every canvas calls
for writing on the sides...
THIS ONE DID!

Materials:
Acrylic paints
Painted deli paper
Fabulous Posca pen for the writing
8"x8"x2" canvas
Old torn music sheets
Soft gel matte medium sealed
(lots of coats to give it a waxy look)

Ready to hang

HAPPY NEW YEAR ~ 2019 with some completed art work in hand...

With ink and fountain pen,
the writings read:
'come bend the day with me'
and
'underneath the layer that has become the surface on which we live our lives'

It feels
so
GOOD
to have finished
these
two
pieces!

With fountain pen and ink:
"when the soul takes flight with the music"

 I almost always
have pieces
of work
drying
or waiting
to be
done.

"when the soul takes flight with the music"
(not my quote)

I have been working for years now to get to this point
on these works, where my intentions have been.
Over and over, but never quite right.
Last month, I knew I was 'getting there'.
Little did I know i'd complete them on

SECOND SHOWING...so close to being finished...

 They are...

 coming along
smiling

I freaked
as I
was leaving my
studio room
this morning...
I looked back at this painting
and thought there was
an accidental blog of
dripping paint...
WHEW
just a little ladybug
strolling along!

 She reads...

 Her skirt

This beauty was just lying on the porch steps
as I walked into the house.

THANKSGIVING in two more days...

 Feeling
especially

 fortunate
to
have a home

 A
loving
family

 We live in California
and have so many friends
and people
we know that have lost
their
homes
in the latest
fires.
 Many of us are helping
as much as possible...

 You and I
know
it can't ever
be
enough
 And now the
holidays
are upon us...

 homes
family
gathering
loving
nurturing...

 WE
pray
every day
for all those
that have lost so much.
And that it
will be sooner
than everyone
 thinks,
 for
all of them to be
HOME.

TO EVERYONE!
Even if you don't celebrate
this day,
or eat turkey.
Have some beautiful moments
with yourself and if you can...
your family.
