Here is where i expect no comments.
the hairdo did not work and never
liked this, but couldn't throw out.
braved changing her but, oh well.
i always learn something, esp. from mistakes
or that a piece just doesn't turn out like
you expected.
Better hair do, still don't like it.
Too cliche, too stiff but
better than the first attempt
I'm in the same place with my painting of "the girls" and "sit down dear". I just can't get either one to a place where I like them. Something is off on both of them, and I can't seem to pull it together. And, it's not like I haven't put in enough time on both of them. Grueling amount of time has been spent. arrgh!
ReplyDeleteSometimes painting seems to be so difficult. And other times, it all comes out so well first try, and so quickly. I'm just going to keep working on both paintings until I at least like them..there may be no love there for me with these two. I've accepted that. heh! But, I have to get them to at least the like stage. No matter how much time it takes.
wanda - thanks for showing us your paintings, the original and the *knock-off*. i don't know what you are trying to achieve but they both look great!

ReplyDeleteI sympathise with you and I think I know where you're coming from, having taken Layer Love alongside you! I really like the changes you've made, especially to her hair. Thanks for sharing with us... =)
I guess we just have to keep practicing. For me, it seems I can struggle along with something & all of a sudden an AHA! moment comes along. So, we just have to keep painting. I think both of your paintings are sweet. There is something in the eyes of the first one that I really like.
