100 FACES...more

spilled some paint on this little "incher" before getting to
the face...so i added water and loved the color.
this one was so tiny i could barely place the paper collage on
her head, even with tweezers ;)

extraordinary fun, even though i don't care for her lips!
there is this comfort zone that wants to change and alter,
but kept to the business of LOOSE and DONE
(for now anyway:)

this little lady took on the look of a moll,
and then she's sporting some of my hand dyed lace
(i have a hard time resisting to NOT clothe these)

pppft...love the background but not her...
this one was so dang teeny i just struggled immensely...

sharing a little piece of friendship here...

and here ~ in collaboration with my FUN FRIEND,
MIZ KATIE!

HAPPY WEEKEND FRIENDS
i'm pretending mine already started before driving off in my
car to work...
in the POURING rain we need desperately during this drought!

  1. WANDA! I am so happy that you all are getting that much needed rain! Go out and splash about like a kid!!!

That very first image....LOVE! The blue is my favorite color. Last summer, I had a blast painting little water colors on 2 X 2 canvas and I tell you, every time I stroked the brush of aqua paint, it made me happy. I look forward to doing a little water colour in my enclosed deck this summer.

How fun if we could meet to do it together!

    Have a super weekend, Anita

  2. Good afternoon, Wanda!

How lovely to see your comment today! As I read your "About Me", I am again inspired by what you share; the great thing about "growing up" (old, as others wish to say) is that you start to learn how much more important it is to play. We play as children, then we learn to do "adult-like" things. Then we become afraid of what others will think, and that seeps into our creativity. Whatever it is, writing, painting or venturing out into a new job, we have to be ourselves on that empty canvas that is in front of us.

There are so many exciting things to delve into. I am going to be featured in a new magazine that will be in print in about 3 weeks and I will also be a contributing writer! It will be a magazine about artists and their lives and I hope this will be the beginning of a freelance writing opportunity for me. But art is what motivates me, and maybe in the summer, we can come up with something! If you wish, go to my other blog, NOWHERE. There you will see 5 years worth of playing and collaborating come to 3D. My illustrations of these two rats, Tea Rat and Rattus have been part of this blog and my husband along with 3 other great friends have added so much to it it wit, illustrations and ideas. Penny White (angelsdoor blog) is the grand dame of needle felted art and she took my illustrations and captured the character of both rats. I just posted a new post...silly, outrageous, and totally NOWHERE.

    HAVE A SUPER DAY! Anita

  3. Wanda, you've outdone yourself. Those inchies must be reallly hard to do if you had to use tweezers on the hair. I have a lot of patience but not sure I could accomplish the look you have achieved in all of them!

  4. HELLO WANDA! How glorious to see you come back to Castles, and to know you saw Tea Rat - you did go to Nowhere, correct?

And I am very excited about being published, FINALLY! That is my dream come true, to have my work in print. It is my first attempt and I have to say I held back on my writing style because I wasn't sure what was desired. But as the year goes on and I contribute (I am now a contributing writer), I hope to let go, as you visual artists do....total abandon. But then as with any art, writing requires serious revision and editing!

No, I did not paint that ferris wheel; I am not that good! But if you went to Nowhere, I am the illustrator of Tea Rat and Rattus, and the post where Tea Rat is contemplating his canvas, I did the mini watercolour of the cottage in the woods.

Enjoy your Sunday dear Wanda! LOVE! Anita
