CREATIVITY ABOUNDS

 Journal page...
an exciting one!
When I am able to re-purpose my own artwork into a piece,
I am thrilled over and over
each and every time!
That CARDBOARD PIECE, a flower I showed you awhile back...
I printed and cut it, mixed it up and used it for her head piece...YAYYY!
(she's on Pinterest;)

 I BELIEVE THIS, do you?

on a weekend day, my niece Katie called up and asked what I was doing...
WE ENDED UP, each of us making an art journal.
This was her first!
I thought it so terrific!
We had so much fun painting, drawing, stenciling, gluing...
ALL DAY LONG,
from START to FINISH.
this is the FRONT of her journal...

this is the BACK of her journal...

this is ONE of her many pages...

 and another page...
she just dived in and I LOVED watching her EXPLORE,
JUMPING INTO THE DEEP END, right away.
then stepping back and saying,
"show me something else" and
made these ALL HER OWN!

here are a few of my inside pages...

this type of journal gives one a jump start on each page...

 we EXPLORED so much together...
We received the best of both worlds...
LEARNING FROM EACH OTHER...
when we leave ourselves WIDE OPEN for ANYTHING...

 YES, just anything...
one thing leads to another...
and creativity leads to...
more creativity...

 NEXT DAY...

 a BLUEBERRY photoshoot...

 to re-purpose...
INTO
A
PAINTING
that I am working on!
i'll show it soon!

HAPPY, the day after
CINCO de MAYO!

;)

WHO'S THAT ON THE PHONE?

 MAY WINDOW PANE'S changed...
with a Misty Mawn gift, she painted on some wood ;)
and
cardboard art you've seen...

one fun page in my art journal...
she's shipping off to a cousin tomorrow...
people started asking if they could purchase any...
and YES...and all of these are extra intuitive and heartfelt!
I am still attempted to leave more of the under layers peeking
through, trying to get it just right!

I used acrylics and then oils for this one's face.
there are cut up papers underneath, and I don't care
for where her mouth ended...but I am learning...

this is a CLOSE UP from the one above ;)

Last night moon in these last 2 photos...it was STUNNING...
THERE was a thin layer of clouds in the sky
and added to the beautiful mystery in our skies!

Next post I will show you my excitement with using my own artwork
within my own art work...that's a funny use of words ;)

I had a most interesting day today and will just share the very first unusual "happening".
This is something we have all experienced, yet it's been a very long time...
I was expecting a call from a cute friend to let me know when she'd leave home.
I looked at the heading as I reached for the phone, thought it read her last name...
ME: HEY CUTIE!
ANSWER: WHAT?
ME: HEY CUTIE!
ANSWER: THIS IS ANGELO
ME: OH SORRY I THOUGHT IT WAS MY FRIEND
ANSWER: THAT'S OKAY, I AM SELLING BLAH BLAH.
ME: NO THANK YOU

Have a Groovy rest of the week!

the PROCESS...

i am studying in my journals, really hard lately...
and love to share!
i've been trying to figure out;
1. if i have a preference to background before faces?
2. leaving more collage in the very end?
i still don't have the answers and probably never will...
i am too spontaneous, and experimental.
so, in the meantime, i learned a LOT from these 2 excercises;
~ i continue to just "dive in" and "do"
~ i truly have slowed down on selections of colors, dimensions and on & on
~ i will never have a favorite between: black and white -- monochromatic -- COLOR!
~ i can't ever be sorry for the ALL tidbits i save/use for collage (even though, i do throw out stuff when it's truly on overload) although, i do have 2...make that 2 really PRETTY tray holders for all this ephemera, which one probably would never notice...BECAUSE...this is ONE BUSY manufacturing room ;0!

Yesterday's Example;
i made several of my own stencils, whew!
chose our May photos for that PICTURE FRAME.
finished making a journal for my youngest sister to take on our trip to Santa Catalina, Panama!
ALMOST finished a new BARREL STAVE GIRLIE, with PINK hair! (that i intend to do on mine soon)
painted a little elephant with INDIA INK...it did not turn out ;( but i won't give up...

getting a VISUAL here, i am,
i appreciate VARIETY...
and i DO finish my projects (eventually and always), whew!

a little
 INSIDE MY HEART
and
MY HANDS
and with
my soul

THANK YOU for peeking and i hope you
ENJOY THE PROCESS!

WISHING YOU ALL A WONDERFUL WEEK

it is SPRING here, is it there with you?

BLOSSOMS in the Placer ARTS and EVENTS CENTER

Placer County Arts is having a May Show, titled,
BLOOM
3 of my paintings were accepted ;)
(always thrilled)
This is the first one;

JUMP INTO YOUR LIFE
(my picture taking has gone down hill)

up close, the largest flower pot in the painting is fabric with paint added to it

there is writing...positive messages all along the orange lines...

I have loved these hanging on our own walls...they are so cheerful...but alas...
I paint so much, our walls are over loaded ;)

 This is the Second Piece.
These first 2 are 12"x 36" x 1 1/2" gallery wrapped
The 4 polka dot squares are torn fabric and
the flower centers as well ;)

hoping you can read this quote from Mark Twain?

 This 3rd piece is 10" x 28" x 1 1/2" gallery wrapped,
titled; Plant "P" words ;)
TISSUE PAPER (crinkly) is the foundation over the canvas before I applied the layers of paint and more tissue paper.
There is a lot of texture that just doesn't show up in the photos.

 like "purpose", "perky" and...

 that IMPORTANT one;
Play, play, play...

the sides are pretty too...
one day i'll take better photos

Meet and Mingle Night is May 1st for art collectors,
and then our work will remain in the ARTS BUILDING,
the month of May.
If they sell, we are allowed to replace with another work,
so I am very busy PLANTING seeds of ideas and trying
to BLOOM some more.

TIS' THE SEASON FOR FLOWERS AND FRIENDS
THANK YOU FOR VISITING ;)
