HERE......GOES!

i played with photoshop the other day and changed part of a painted profile to this...i just love this and many things are rolling around in my mind on what to do further. one is: i printed this on some fabric and plan to attack this project when i am able. i also thought it would be fab to paint it again, just like this, or similar :)

this shows the blue profile at the top, the one i altered. this was a painting that went into a book, with other participants, for misty mawn (made by Galia Helena) as a thank you FOR her wondrous teachings...

richard found this little teeny nest...he knows how to excite me!

it had fallen from one of our oak trees and looks to be the size that hummingbirds weave :)

right HERE is where i took a little nap yesterday...that is a flowering plum tree behind our deck, it is magnificent this year, esp. while all around us is sooo green.

i WAS not going to say WHY i've been gone or hardly ever here, let alone visiting my favorite blogs...but i am going to say why in the hope that this will help everyone possible that hears this, and/or to pass it on and prevent it...
i contracted a bad case of SHINGLES a little before Christmas. it was on the right side of my body which included my neck just up to my chin, chest, arm and shoulder, then up into my hair on the right also. i thank GOD, it was not on my face (that one brings on a host of hideous happenings, no exaggeration).
so i hit the dr's office after gradually finding little red patches popping up. well, i went a round or two of lots of medicines and the hope of not having permanent or semi permanent nerve damage, leaving me with therpetic neuralgia. (not sure of the spelling, but, it's on the internet), well it did. this can go away tomorrow, this can go away a year from now, this can go away 2 years from now or NEVER. it is just the same as having shingles, depending on how your body reacts. pain and itching like you cannot believe. the horrific part of some pain has left my body and i of course, hope the rest will some day. i became allergic to some of the medicine i was taking which has caused a long lasting welty rash on my chest with scars already. it itches and burns just like the shingles rash and i will spare you all, all the rest of how bad this can be.
HONESTLY, this has been an learning experience on pain management and what that can mean when no magic pill relieves one. and i know now that there are so many people on this earth walking around with a smile on their face, even when they don't feel like it. Truly, i have had my share of pain throughout my lifetime, but this, that goes on and on is not a blessed way to walk this earth.

MORE good thoughts. Art does save lives. my artwork and even the thought of it has kept me from going completely mad. and the vaccine for this malady is no garantee that you won't contract it, but it CAN POSSIBLY alleviate the duration and permanent nerve, muscle and skin damage. i had no idea! i still look in the mirror to see if there is a new rash where my skin is burning or itching or causing horrid pain.

NOT ONE OF YOU has to feel sorry for me. there are so many people that suffer far worse than this and as i said, i SO want to help prevent this if it can be done for you or yours.
i shall not mention this on my blog again...that's just not what it's intended for, and besides, i say with a smile on my face...here is where i can FORGET about the dang thing!

XOXO

WONDERFUL WHIMSIES FOR YOU!

i started out with an end of a wooden box, screws intact...

i taped a paint brush on the end of long stick (got the idea from robert burridge) and painted with my eyes closed with paynes grey (i did peek to get the wood covered :)

started filling in the spaces till something showed itself...even the little bird in the right bottom corner! i carry my childhood days of imagination every where i go...right in the middle of my heart!

This is a top of the hanger for the surprise coming up...

this is a close up of their wardrobe...oh how i love to get them dressed up!

A large cardboard hanger, that reads romantically...
"KISSES, THEY HAVE A WAY OF LINGERING"
measuring 9" X 18" including the beads.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY tomorrow MY FRIENDS!

XOXO

WHOA, sunshine does the trick!

a miracle just happened...i saw that i was able to upload photos from blog again, so thought i should take advantage of that...this first shot...the sun came streaming through the window just as i snapped the camera...i left them as they are and it's appropriate...

she's an angel with "funny" little angels all around her, including a bird in the right hand corner...

i'll take some better photos later...as the little ones just got their wings and i'm tuckered out!
This will be in the Auburn Ca. Artwalk in April/May.
and for Joanne Rose...she is a CELEBRATION of ANGELS watching, listening and HEALING!

Teensy Weensy Story

This album has 4 photos and will be available on SkyDrive until 4/24/2013.

This was one piece i had in the sept/oct artwalk. The artwalk was ended and wanda brought all her paintings home. one was missing. this is a chance we take putting our artwork in different establishments. i sign a waiver each time and then say to myself, sie le vie!!!

WELL...i was disappointed at first and just had to chalk it up that someone might want it that much :) About 3 months later, a person in charge of me in the artwalk called and told me there was a check at the store, for the TEENSY EENSY BIRD DAY PAINTING!!!

i was a teensy bit ELATED!

THE END...it's a good one eh?

P.S. if you view this as a slide show, you will be able to see the teensy birds :)
i still don't know what i'm doing with sending photos from email and my email is new as well.
i am learning, i am learning...

Posting from my e-mail/i don't have enough service power

When Erin Lea, our only child said this at the young age of 3, this was her stance...and i can't remember her using it ever again. This was a definite clue that she was feeling ganged up on.

WHEN DO I GET TO BE THE BOSS?
Thank you my WONDER FRIEND, miz katie for helping me post...and everyone might notice, i can't write where i'd like to, there is a new and improved e-mail interference, sheesh...i am being tested!

Back in the saddle...in time for Christmas!

i made these last year...i love making them for Christmas gifts and they make perfect saleable items as well...each are about 3" X 7"...

a few wks ago, a niece of mine had an artist gathering at her new apt.
everyone brought whatever they wanted to make...

it was such FUN being in the company of like minded souls and all of the SHARING...

i cut up some heavy watercolor paper and put layers on each of them, while listening, gabbing and sharing stories...

it was such an easy way to get them done and FUN!

these are little bags painted and sewn with hangers...

they look great just hanging on the wall with nothing in them or with a dried grapevine or dried flowers in them :)
this is the flip side of the first pocket photo

 First side

 Flip side
they are in between
3" X 5" - 5" X 7"

last but not least...this is a little peek at a new mixed media painting

i tried to stick to 2 colors, but HAD to introduce a teeny bit of blue...
who knows how this will end up as it gets many more layers!

there is crackle medium, modeling past, cardboard and various other applications...i have to be patient and let it dry in between it's UN-purposes :))

i hope you've had a wonderful weekend...it's not over yet here on the west coast!
HAPPY SUNDAY ALL!

AUTUMN

 17" X 24" Abstract
these are the colors around here lately, i thing i have been influenced!

here, you can catch glimpses of fabric with beads embroidered, and some written transfers

then in this close up, there is: a torn painted paper (left over paint has to go on something), a fabric pattern, torn and a cut piece of this stiff  "stuff" that resembles thin burlap :)

painted fabric and pattern tissue shows up here along with some text transfers...

i could not resist this fabric flower, it just fit into the groove perfectly to my eyes..you can also spy some more pattern pieces and transfered text...

 painted paper, tissue paper

and my own favorite quote, i have used again...
"what did you come into this world to do?"

fabric leaves, painted paper and pattern tissue

 more of the same...only flipped

seeeee what i mean? how could i NOT paint those colors?

i wish all of YOU'S  a wonderful THANKSGIVING!
AND the friends across the world a wonderful rest of the week!

xoxo

Brown Paper Bags?

sooooo....remember the last post, making paper flowers?

welll...when i posted them on face book, someone wanted to buy them (they weren't meant for that) but what the heck?

sooo...tonight while i  was painting...i looked over on one of my BUSY walls and saw this gessoed piece of burlap...then i noticed a giant brown gift back, stashed under a table...

YEP...all ready to put a gift in it!!!

the paper flowers were made from these...

simply, gessoed newspaper, just a single ply...
this one i altered pink, so you could see what it looks like, better..

very FUN, easy, and INexpensive project!!!

YES, i still paint pictures and have been working on 4 of them off and on...they aren't coming easy...but i know it will all be worth while!

A VERY HAPPY WEEKEND FRIENDS!

SHARE THE WEALTH AND JOY!!!

i am taking alisa burke's 30 days of christmas projects or thoughts ON-LINE CLASS and this was first up! she showed us how to make similar flowers with brown kraft paper...she encouraged us to take off on our own...well, i've been going nuts in a good way...CHRISTmas gifts galore...

this one is with a magazine page (painted with leftover paint, hanging all over my walls) and some star glitter!

this one is with a Trader Joe's baguette bag wrapper.
this particular family writes the sweetest comments right on the bag, about their family...love that!

another painted paper out of an old tablet...
don't ya' love that feeling of re-purposing the craziest things!!!

 GATHERED

man OH man...i've been quite manic...in all good ways (well, you might not ask my husband) getting christmas gifts ready for FAMILY and FRIENDS.
this particular one is so special to me and hope my family feels the love.

i cut up GREAT NANA'S hand quilting pieces and sewed them on the front and back of these little "painted papers" with special words.  i'll send a letter for each of my sisters, brothers and cousins attached to these about NANA and what she taught me, and what a staunch woman of her time she was!

i hope this helps all or any of you with some new ideas for Christmas...involving more time than anything else...which can only bring JOY!

YEP, i've got Christmas carols in the background!

HAPPY CRAFTING MY FRIENDS!
