IT'S AN GORGEOUS SPRING DAY IN APRIL,2020...

I left this blog of mine abrubtly...
I had 2 knee replacements and
am back on the mend.

I was so thrilled to be able to
collect plants and flowers outdoors.
Bringing them in to make prints.

I used heaps of left over
tubes of paint.

And felt ever so blessed and down right excited,

with how they all turned out.
Someday soon i hope to incorporate many of them into some pieces of art work.

THOSE PERFECT SPRING DAYS...

 Up close:
Flexible spackling, cardboard, cheese cloth, print made deli paper, and acrylics.

Added dried plant material, and modeling paste through a stencil...

 The pink paper here is;
printed deli prints from acrylic paint.

The little pink collage area are
real dried flowers, plants, and deli pieces, with
matte medium over the top.
(kinda looks like hot wax)

The piece in it's
ENTIRETY.
I promised something finished soon.
But didn't think I'd ever be done with this.
I have worked on it off and on for almost a year.
It's title is at the top of post for the introduction.
There is also fabric, tissue paper, and things i don't even remember using!

SOUS-CHEF DAYS...(photos can all be enlarged)

 There was this paper bag
floating
around in my studio
for days, maybe weeks.
It wasn't just a brown grocery bag...

 It had texture,
was light weight,
and
LARGE.
I had to do something with it
TODAY!
YAY!
(actually, that was yesterday)

 oOH
GET a load of those gloppy drips...
I LOVE THEM!

 Now
TODAY...
Someone gave me the sweetest card,
(just because)
i altered it a bit with left over paint.

 On to the old story...
"LEFT OVER PAINT".
I cannot waste.
I took some deli papers, using them as printing papers
and dabbed over the start of these cards.
Voila!
I was actually excited as they lightened up
and weren't so doggone dark anymore. ;)

 And
then...
and yet again...
One of those HAPPY ACCIDENTS!
My flower turned into an abstract
BLUE BUTTERFLY!
(you can bet i'll either be using this IN a painting collage, or will turn it into
it's deserving right...a true framed painting.

These are some of  the deli papers i used
to print on top of other paintings.

And YES, I did notice that
GORGEOUS MORNING LIGHT
coming from our windows!

I promise to show some mixed media pieces
that shall come to fruition, as soon as possible.
For now, you can laugh...

Some of us are SOUS-CHEFS when it comes to some of our work. Certainly not all, but lots.

So when the public asks:
'how long did this take you, how'd you do that, where did you get that, what is that?'
My answer:
Sometimes i just don't know, truly.
As the days roll on, and one is experimenting, and open to
CHANGE, anything goes...
JUST DO IT,
day in and day out till you figure it out/or not; but
HAVE FUN IN THE MEANTIME!

A VERY HAPPY SUNDAY IN FEBRUARY...

Well, it finally happened! I figured out how to retrieve as well as post my photos.
Talk about a happy camper, it makes my world go round.

These are some painted and collaged papers on old book pages.
So very fun.
The will be used to skew and frame. Or rip up and place gingerly in other art works.

The co-op gallery i work in has accepted my new work with birds.
This particular one, is my very latest.
i experimented acrylics, FW Inks, and Posca pens.
i hope you are as delighted as i am in the outcome!
i love how the 'see through ink' lends a
new flavor to my work.

Thank you for continuing to watch for a come back or refresher course.
My stats showed many of you!!!

Almost September...

I really really really am going to return here. It will be when I can figure out how to post my photos from my new camera to the same place I always have. FRUSTRATED BEYOND BELIEF I AM. So in the meantime, here is a picture of our only little grandchild, Venna, in her bathing suit and hat. We are happy grandparents.

MISSING IN ACTION...(this art action) far too long in June...

 Oh my goodness,
apology for missing in action.
So much going on this summer.
I hope your time is going well.
Now that I am back...
I am still in the pink (chuckling).
I am almost finished with this piece,
(frame is drying)
and then off to the gallery.
happy!

I am working on 2 of these,
and am much further along and
promise to show you the finish!

While swimming, playing, and good laughs
at Folsom Lake with my sisters...
these darling little butterflies came and landed off and on all day.
They were pink and blue
and only about an inch
so I couldn't get very good pics.
They were unbelievably beautiful.

Close up's here and the next ones.
This, of one of the two I showed here in the beginning.

I am having so much fun with some products,
it's unbelievable!
Using tissue paper, deli papers
and a gelli print pad
(oh my)

When i am finished and show you...
i will gladly let you know the products
and how some processes are done.
Simply leave me a note (i only know english)
and will gladly tell you anything!

It's been a good summer so far!

IT'S SPRING! HAVE YOU BEEN BUSY?...

 This is how

 paint went on

 barrel staves.

 They lend
themselves
to such
earthy
delight!

 Using:

Paint,
paper and words...

 Leaving spots
in their natural state
(yet sealed for preservation)

A few deep and meaningful words,
thoughts,
like;
'JUST BE'

 Sparse amount of
personal altered photos

Ready to hang, wires on the backs (which are painted solid black)
Some of their words:
'inside the heartbeat of creation'
'simple things you already know'
'daydreaming'
and
'nowhere else matters'
