Birthday remnants with Carolyn and Chad

On our way to Sutter Creek
My favorite antique store, in Diamond Springs...

This was in working order!

It's whats inside that counts, sometimes...

how cool is this glass blowers building and roof!?

We kept hearing, "it's just up the road a piece"...

searching for the Daylily Farm...we landed here

in the quaint town of Volcano.

We took a look at a place to stay all night some

time. A man told us the t.v. para normal persons

did a study there and found the spirit of a little

girl trapped upstairs...oooooooh!

The sign said, "General Store"..

nah, it was a cutsey little bar where we

ended our day, toasting one another!

  1. Looks like a wonderful place to spend your birthday!! What would one expect in a place called Volcano, or Daylily Farm or Diamond Springs?....nothing but quaintness and history, I'm sure. :)

  2. Oooh! I would so love to visit this place. It is so beautiful. Look at that stone, and rusty roof. sigh.

And, the name kinda reminded me of towns in WV. Hurricane and Tornado. Except they pronounce them a little differently then if you're talking about the weather...I can't remember how they say Tornado, but Hurricane is pronounced something like Her-A-can. heh!

  4. Ooh, yeah. You learned a great lesson from your family, huh? Never throw art away..never ever. If you hate it, just keep re-working it or tear it up into bits and use it in another piece. It will give it depth. but, how cool is that, though..ending up in your shop. ha!

I can't believe I didn't notice you made purses before, seriously. I must be daft. I have a slight obsession with purses. Okay, "slight" might be minimizing a tad, but you won't get me to admit that twice.

Colors I wear, eh? The thought of owning a Wanda purse does send chills up my spine. I ain't much of a dresser, tho..I don't know the first thing about fashion. Does paint splatter jeans and t-shirts count? My clothing is so disgusting lately. I need to go shopping, but I can't seem to put down the paint brush long enough. I hate shopping. ooooh, GAH!! I'm not a typical woman by any means. But, yeah..my best answer would be..I wear black, blue (jeans), and darker colors, mostly.

Heh! Your last ? reminds me of those hateful math problems I was never smart enough to get right. heehee But, I do know the answer to your question. If it's 1pm in CA, then it's 3pm here in ks. We're on central time, and 2 hours ahead of you.

Funny you should mention sending me something. I was thinking earlier that we should do a collaboration of some sort. Like maybe art journals..mail art. Pass two back and forth, keep one at the end. We could do several pages at one time, to cut down on the cost of postage. LMK what you think. I've got some small books already with gesso on them..somewhere. It might be fun. :)

  5. I found your blog via Stephanie's blog and already I'm liking it. My cousin lived in Volcano before she move to Idaho. I've never been there but it sounds like a nice place to visit and enjoy.
