MUST PLAY!!!

she ended up like this...going backward...
I am going to fix her flower and her lips a bit...

this was the first change I made and it looked very bad with her
abstract-y body...ergo the top is better

 one little close-up...

cover her up and then proceeded ;)

before the flower in her hair...

she is on an old cupboard door
14" X 37"

she reads;
"you must...
you KNOW...
PLAY..
EVERY day!!

  3. Good morning Wanda! The changes you made are striking, and also, what kind of paint are you using to get such smooth results? I love that she is on a cupboard door! The only painting I've done this week is chalk painting on a small table, and even that take some "courage" to step back and discover that it did not come out as planned. The nice thing about the distressed look and chalk paint is that you can go over it again, and use wax and sanding to get the look. But how you do what you do is impressive, and I like HER!

OH! I was so busy all week with finalizing school before my spring break this week that I never had a chance to email you. But I will! Big hugs, Anita

  4. HELLO WANDA! So nice to see your comment tonight! I am intrigued by your painting life; now tell me, are you a teacher? You also mentioned retirement! I am on spring break starting tomorrow and I have a lot of writing I need to accomplish, but in between that time, I hope to finish my table! I started out with old white, but as much white as I love and have in my home, I am also after the patina look of gray, so as soon as I'm done putting a layer of the gray, I will wax it with clear wax, then apply the fun part of the dark wax to get the look I'm after! Annie Sloan chalk paint is fabulous to get the antiqued look!

I wanted you to see the piece I made as part of the traveling journal. You can view it here at my other blog where I am experimenting with photos...nothing special. See here:

I hope you can access it. Which reminds me, I have to send off the journal! I have much to do this week!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK PAINTING! Anita

  6. Oh how fun it is to see your comment on my new post dearest Wanda. BLESS YOU! How I love words, and to hear them, read them, puzzle them around until they say something to someone's heart. PEACE! Anita
