better her than me. and what a grand idea

this has been for me!

first of all, i've always put my journals together AFTER

making the pages. i find this so inviting to open a book and paint away!

Also, this reminds me of following misty, and painting every single day or putting together a collage.

the challenge brings out the best in me (mostly) pushing to DO...and i am loving it katie!

i won't show anymore pages, well maybe some, heh heh heh!....

Collaboration with Miz Katie / DELIGHT

Yay, (Miz Katie.com)!!! if you haven't already seen

on katie's blog...we are doing a collaboration of

two journals. she received mine today and these are

just a few of some pages divulged. in between each page

of sorts are heavy water color paper...if she wishes to

put pounds of anything on them, they'll receive it.

Crackle Girls Experiment

I applied crackle paint over entire water color paper.

One with Golden and one with tim holtz.

I wanted to find out what it would be like to paint over.

I had a lot of questions. (i know that there are peeps

that have all these answers, but i didn't)

It was VERY fun and interesting. And knowing me, I still

don't know which of these two was done with each product.

I do know that i was happy when done, it's really expensive,

and i plan to do some others, as i just love crackle!

I'm out looking for a sale now.

She breathes life, thanks to the positive messages

i so surprisingly received. thanks, ladies.

i'm just still not in love with her, that happens.

but she's beginning to speak to me...

and if you look closer, it says on her dress..

"the language they spoke fluently to us was kindness..."

Then at the top is the word kindness and the phrase,

"adopt the pace". thank you again!

Purchased a mat and frame for misty's painting.

Oh, how it lift's my SOUL!

Either, misty's painting was made for

this room, or we did the room

around her painting......unbelievable transformation!

Belated birthday lunch at High Hand Nursery with Janet

If you're ever going through sacramento, and decide to head toward the foothills...there is an oasis of an nursery (everything about it is artistic, including the food) smack in the middle of Loomis town, well worth a days stay!!!

Started on a 14"x9" block of maple

wood, 2" thick. White gesso, dried for a week.

Then came this blue...

New hints of tint...

New hues of blues

A "medium" and "techniques"

added and acting on "Julification" advice!

Finished and elated about all the processes!
Also going to add a little stick

twig from nature on top of the brown cloth...

and possibly some little seed pods in the upper

right hand corner.

This was in working order!

We kept hearing, "it's just up the road a piece"...

searching for the Daylily Farm...we landed here

in the quaint town of Volcano.

We took a look at a place to stay all night some

time. A man told us the t.v. para normal persons

did a study there and found the spirit of a little

girl trapped upstairs...oooooooh!

The sign said, "General Store"..

nah, it was a cutsey little bar where we

ended our day, toasting one another!

Here is where i expect no comments.

the hairdo did not work and never

liked this, but couldn't throw out.

braved changing her but, oh well.

i always learn something, esp. from mistakes

or that a piece just doesn't turn out like

you expected.

Better hair do, still don't like it.

Too cliche, too stiff but

better than the first attempt
