INSPIRATION WEDNESDAYS...

 INSPIRATION WEDNESDAY with Donna Downey...
has brought on much more than following her directions...

which is just what I was hoping for...
some fire lit under me and to journal more if I thought it would help...

well, this is just one of many little pieces I have spun in my journals...
AFTER following ALONG with her demonstrations...
I find myself jumping in more and more,
than I ever thought possible...
leading to inspiration for larger projects,
not intentionally, it has just happened!

not everything turns out wonderful...this is the last one
that I followed with her (Donna), which I don't like at all,
but learned IMMENSE new WONDERS;
1.~I am terrible with using stencils and plan to find out how to better utilize
2.~I would rather paint my cheese cloth first before putting it in place, (and have to check out WHAT SHE USED on this scheme, which was texture tape) I can still cover it up with other paint, but it's all easier for me the other way around ;)
3.~there aren't very many numeral stencils in the stores, especially compared to letters (so on line seems to be IT)
4.~I really like trading off, using white gesso interlinked with white paint
5.~i actually like that I have to wait for things to dry, I move around then, from project to project and it frees me up even more!
sooo...that's a LOT learned from one piece that I don't really care for and yet...

I seem to have the urge to make more and more angels...
just diving in my journals and seeing what transpires...

this is IMPORTANT business friends, the continuity to paint and glue with deep soulful intuition...
this would make a great card ;)

the RIPPLE EFFECT just continues to roll ;)
(EXCITEMENT FACTOR enters in)

we continue having the most BEAUTIFUL sunsets...

 that cause us to GASP...

 and to SHARE...

NATURE'S BEAUTY expands our INSPIRATION
I say!

HAPPY INSPIRATION WEDNESDAY FRIENDS

ART JOURNAL FRIDAY

This is a picture of an art doll I made a LONG time ago...

I transferred her onto to hardboard for my sister Candy...
and I am surprising her with her very own journal...
to take with us to Santa Catalina, Panama this summer...

this is one of the pages in Candy's journal...
there are many different ones, painted and plain...
she can draw, write, paint and place photos in it
to her heart's content.
I can't wait to surprise her...;)

in between drying time on the other journal...
I made another very simple one for myself.
this is the front...

and this is the back ;)
this one is for painting at home or drawing away from home

and then I decided to make my own journal this week to take to Panama...
the colors turned out so gorgeous...I decided to paint it on some
Heavy Watercolor paper for a background to paint on...it feels real
chalky and toothy...something I crave to paint on!

and now the change for our window frame...
it's FEBRUARY after all

I painted a little card stock for this month...

 spied these on the internet...
the little tab underneath reads,
"if you love someone, let them nap"
;)

added the little phrase under my little painting...

and here we are for FEBRUARY,
on cardboard with a pretty new skirt for
VALENTINES DAY

happy JOURNAL KEEPING MY FRIENDS!

INSPIRATION WEDNESDAYS

 One little page...learning more
about how
ACRYLIC GLAZING LIQUID
extends the drying time just a wee perfect amount, and...

when you wipe it away, it adds depth underneath...
exciting, eh?

 2 PAGE SPREAD start...

up close with the greens and greys and ACRYLIC GLAZING LIQUID

showing the best portion of the
TWO PAGE SPREAD...

 CLOSE UP

 and CLOSER...

 CLOSER...

CLOSEST ;)

These are all the start of some works with Donna Downey and her paid class, INSPIRATION WEDNESDAYS.
She posts every other Wednesday for this entire year...if you'd like to check it out on her blog or store  http://donnadowney. com

ART JOURNAL FRIDAY

in my journal, on this particular one...I tried to stick to only 2-3 colors

I really enjoyed it and just let go at times and then left for a meal...

and then started noodling the faces too much...
and that's okay,,,i learn so much
from painting and gluing in these books...
SO MUCH comes out of us when we just let it flow and/or take some jaunts elsewhere with brush, paint and heart...

I am just now finding out,
HOW EDUCATIONAL
FUN
FREEING
REVELATIONS
NEW EXPERIENCES
ELATION (with frustration)
putting it down with no
GRAND EXPECTATIONS

A start in my journal of playing with pretty colors,
seeing where my inspiration would wander...

picked up a charcoal stick and an ANGEL came into view...
I wanted it to just flow with simplicity and clarity...
and I lucked out...she is quite simplistic
I even tackled a palette painted flower,
INSPIRED BY...
my friend http://katherinjeannewood. has just finished with a 30 day series on the subject, and I adore her work.
it was so new and fun...I shall attempt more flowers this way.
thank YOU Katie!

this portion of "LOVE" is from one of my monoprints (copied and color changed)
exciting to me!!!

I did this just before retiring last evening

 they are 2 different pages...

side by side in a different journal I sewed up this week.
they will be a start for this morning's journey ;)
I am so excited about them too!

and I just finished this yesterday for one of my nieces..
she just rented a new apartment for she and her son, and
I will be surprising her with it when it's framed.
yes...I'm excited about that too ;)

HAVE A VUNDER FILLED WEEKEND

FRIDAY NIGHT ART JOURNAL...starting a new resolution...

I have 4 very large paintings...
WIP...that...
I am inserting and editing here; that these girls are not my
LARGE works in progress...
THESE are what I went to, working in my journal, they are finished!
as I am STUCK ON finishing some abstracts that are large and looming in front of my face to be finished.
and this is the time now that I will put 2 of them under a bed, hidden away and the other 2 in a closet, to bring out on another day, week, month, when they decide they are ready ;)

 I DO BELIEVE

aND smile often and LAUGH I might add...

In the meantime...this is when I go into my art journal...
to
LISTEN
LEARN
GET LOOSE...
hmmm...

Our window frame finally made into January...
hurry, take a look...
it will be February in the blink of an eye!

Next Post: close up and the little stories that go with the photos.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
